Foreword: Using This Wiki

The LSL Wiki was originally established by Catherine Omega and hosted at BadGeometry.com. Since then, other users have contributed to help it grow into the most complete resource for both amateur and professional Second Life scripters alike. The Lindens eventually integrated it into the official SL site. Chances are you're viewing this from there.

Navigating the Wiki This wiki is divided into five main sections
Homepage Here you'll find links to the rest of the wiki
Functions The main Linden functions list
Events The main Linden events list
Glossary The glossary of terms
Script Library Useful examples and code snippets from other residents

Many other sections and pages exist, but chances are these are the ones you will use most.

Q&A

Q: What's a "wiki", anyway?
A: As defined by Wikipedia, a wiki is "a web application that allows users to add content, as on an Internet forum, but also allows anyone to edit the content."
For more information, please visit the above link.

Q: So I can add material to this site?
A: That's right. Just create an account, and you're ready to go.

Q: Should I wish to contribute, are there any rules I should know about?
A: One main one: Respect the work of others. Snide remarks, vandalism, and belittlement only anger other users. Also, refrain from editing personal pages, unless there is very good reason. Leave a comment on a page if you are unsure of whether or not you should edit it. See the wiki etiquette page for a more complete list.
Remember, access to the wiki is a privilege, not a right.

Q: What should I do if I find a page that has been vandalized?
A: You can either contact the page owner immediately or attempt to fix the page yourself.
Because wikis store previous versions of all pages, restoring lost content is very easy. Simply press "Show Revisions", click on the date of a previous (unvandalized) edit of a page, and then click the "Re-edit this old revision" button and save that other revision.
